Robert F. Brown, 75, Loyal, passed away
on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Colonial Center, Colby, surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Robert Francis Brown was
born on Aug. 14, 1936, in Rochester, N.Y., to Francis and Sophie (nee Putnam)
Brown. They latr moved to Wisconsin, where they attended Waukesha schools. He
joined the Army National Guard and also served his country in the U.S. Army
during the Korean War. He married Darlene Hinkley on Oct. 13, 1962. They had
four children: Susan Brown, Colby, Peter (Sharon) Brown, Colorado, Paul Brown,
Stetsonville, and Bobbie Jo (Brad) Suckow, Unity. They later divorced. He
married Nancy Davel on Jan. 21, 1983, and was lovingly accepted as the
step-father of her children: Bob Davel, Willard, Marie Davel, Marshfield, Debi
(Chris) Langreck, Marshfield, Larry Davel, Neillsville, Tami (Randy) Cook,
Loyal, Shirley Goode, Medford, and Lisa (Al) Payne, Loyal. He spent most of his
time working career driving truck; his last job was at Meigs in Abbotsford from
where he retired in 2002. Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife, trips to
the casino with his good friend Skip Sossaman, and family get-togethers.
In addition to his children, survivors include his wife, Nancy Brown, Loyal; his
loving sister, Jean (Joe) Pedersen, and their four sons, Michael, Richard,
Robert and Patrick; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his faithful
pals, Tippy, Sassy and Calico.
