Memorial services for Judith K. “Judy” Locknane, 69, Davenport, Iowa, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will take place at a later date. She passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Manor Care-Utica Ridge, Davenport.

Judith Karen Hanabarger was born on May 29, 1943, in Virden, Ill., the daughter of Lloyd and June (nee Baker) Hanabarger. On July 22, 1961, she married Jerry Locknane in Davenport. They later divorced. She served as a Girl Scout leader and a volunteer at the former Mercy Hospital. She was a member of the Davenport Moose Lodge and the Jaycees. She enjoyed fishing and loved animals.

She is survived by her three children, Chris (Steve) Hoverson, Rogers, Minn., Dana Kurtz, Fort AStkinson, and Tony (Kim) Locknane, LaCrosse; and five grandchildren, Kyle Sepp, Alexa Jacobi, Lauren Sepp, Samantha Kurtz and Brennen Locknane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Garth Lydick.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Manor Care-Utica Ridge and to Heartland Hospital hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Judy’s illness.
