Theisen, Mr. and Mrs. William (14 June 1910-19 June1960)
Mr.
and Mrs. William F. Theisen celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding
last Sunday at a solemn High Mass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Lucy
Sivert of Los Angeles, California, one of the original attendants was also
present.
The Mass was read by Father Reinhold Theisen OSB, son of the
honored couple, with Fr. Edward Bertz and Fr. N. E. King as assistants. Jerome
Hoeser acted as Master of Ceremonies, with Joe Hauptman, Joe Favreau, James
Theisen and Philip Theisen as acolytes.
Following the Mass, a dinner was
served to the honored couple in St. Anthony’s hall for the children,
grandchildren, relatives and guests of the family by St. Ann’s group of St.
Mary’s Altar Society.
Ray Theisen acted as Master of ceremonies for the
program which followed and called on the sons, daughters of the jubilarians to
reenact briefly their experiences since leaving home.
Also called on this
time were Father Bertz, Father King and Father Reinold, William A. Theisen and
Judge Jerome Ledvina. William F. Theisen responded with an expression of
appreciation for those in attendance, as well as some well-chosen thoughts
regarding the years which have passed since his marriage.
Surviving sons
7 daughters of the honored couple are Leo W. Theisen, Orlando, Florida; Wm. A.
Theisen, Loyal, Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Norton, Park Forest, Illinois. Ray J.
Theisen, Eau Claire; Mrs. James (Florence) Ward, South Milwaukee; Mary Jane
Theisen, Milwaukee; Mrs. Jerome (Betty) Johnson, Eau Claire; Dr. Chas. E.
Theisen, South Milwaukee; Father Reinold Theisen OSB., St. John’s Abbey,
Collegeville, Minn.; and Mrs. Homer (Barbara) Betts, Paynesville, Ohio.
All were present along with their wives except Leo, who recently suffered a
temporaily disabling fracture. Of the 28 grandchildren of the coulpe, 21 were
present for the event.
Mr. and mrs. Theisen were married June 14, 1910 at
St. Augustin’s Church, Reif’s Mills, Wis. which was also within a few miles of
the birthplace of each of them. Following their marriage, Mr. Theisen continued
working for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in Milwaukee in accounting
work.
In 1920, Wm. Theisen joined his brother, Leo M. Theisen, in a
hardware store in Loyal, where he is still active in the work of retail hardware
& services. Open house for friends was held at the Theisen home Sunday
afternoon.

From Manitowoc - Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Tome, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mrotek, Mr. and Mrs.
Irven Theisen, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Terens, Mrs. Mary McCarthy, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Ledvins.
Others were Mrs. Lucy Sivert, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Leo
Theisen and Earl, Appleton, Mr. and mrs.Geo. Calmes, Abbotsford; Mrs. Ron

Mrs. Josephine Reif, Saukville; Mrs. Furman and daughter Phylliss, of Larson,
and Mrs. Hauptman and daughter, Gert, Eau Claire.
