Vnuck, Rolf (Arson - APR 1917)
(Republican & Press)
Rolf Vnuck, charged with attempt to burn the
Neillsville Armory, had a further hearing Saturday before Court Commissioner
Campman. Private Ed Zachernitz, who was subpoenaed from Two Harbors, Minn.,
identified Vnuck as the man he had found prowling about the Armory one night
about one o’clock. The Deputy State Fire Warden had tests made with the candles
found in Vnuck’s possession and the remains of the candle found in the box of
kindling and they seemed to be of exactly the same material.
The evidence
seemed to be sufficient to hold the defendant for trial and he was therefore
bound over to circuit court, bail being fixed at $5000, which at this writing
has not been secured.
