Miss Esther Berger
visited from Sunday until monad with Mrs. L.A. Allen.
Seeding will begin
or has already begun this week. Last week’s rain stopped the beginning, but now
with clearer weather it began. The night frosts will stop the growing of grass
if it keeps on a little longer.
There is still some hay in the county.
Some is old loose and some is shipped out baled.
Wm. Peters had a
successful barn raising last week. A crew of men is at work now putting on
boards and rafters.
The lumber yard is getting in more lumber and
shingles right along and doing some business too.
Ure brothers sawed out
the lumber and timber for Mrs. Fischer for her new barn to be built.
A
meeting was held last week to make arrangements for Memorial Day. The committees
necessary were appointed. The day will be celebrated as usual this year.
H. Degener has one 7 ft. Monitor disc drill left to be sold right.
The
Wis. Dredging Co. loaded on cars and shipped out all their material to other
points this week.
