Frank Herland Biddle was born on May 25, 1915, in the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, the son of Richard and Lillian (Newhouse) Biddle. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at Reseburg School. Frank was united in marriage to Julia Fillo on December 31, 1934, in Boyd. They farmed south of Thorp for a couple years, and then moved to Milwaukee where Frank worked for Western Leather. After two years in Milwaukee, they returned to Thorp and farmed in the Town of Mead.
