Langreck, Mr. and Mrs. Henry
(Golden - 28 November 1966)
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Langreck of Neillsville
observed their golden wedding anniversary Saturday. The observance began with a
high mass in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. George M. Nelson was the
celebrant and St. Mary’s School choir sang the mass, accompanied at the organ by
Sister Michiel Mary.
At noon 60 family members were served an
anniversary y dinner in the American legion Hall, which later was the setting or
a reception and dance.
Henry Langreck was born January 12, 1890, in St.
Lucas, Ia., where he attended school and farmed. He came to Neillsville in 1914,
locating in the Town of Grant, where he farmed until 1961, at which time he
retired, moving to Neillsville.
Mrs. Langreck, the former Mary Mueller,
was born July 2, 1890, in Neillsville. She attended Neillsville schools and on
November 28, 1916, was married to Henry Langreck.
Mr. Langreck is a
member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, while Mrs.
Langreck belongs to the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Mr. and Mrs.
Langreck are the parents of seven children. They are: Mrs. John (Marie) Resong,
Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Opelt, Sister M. Niva, S. S. N. D. (Florence), Sister M.
Lillia, S. S. N. D. (Catherine), Harold Langreck, Herbert Langreck and Robert
Langreck. They also have 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Attending the anniversary celebration were: Mrs. Elmer Richardson of Milwaukee,
a cousin of Mrs. Langreck, who was bridesmaid in the original wedding 50 years
ago; Sister Mary Niva, who is teaching in Chippewa Falls; Sister Mary Lillia,
teaching in Marshfield; Brother Francis of Desoto; Mrs. Bertha Mueller of
Delafield; Leo Mueller of Milwaukee; Mrs. Helen Chase of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Richardson of Milwaukee; John Langreck of St. Lucas, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Langreck of Alamogordo, N. M.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aumann of Loyal; Mr.
and Mrs. Ferd Langreck of Greenwood.
Herman Langreck of Springville, N.
Y., who was a member of the wedding party 50 years ago, was unable to attend.
