Horn, Caroline (22 August 1887 - 11 November 1966)
Mrs. Caroline Horn, 79, of Greenwood, died Friday evening at her home of a
heart attack.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Zion
United Church in Greenwood. Officiating was the Rev. Wolfgang C. Koehler, pastor
of the United Church in Neillsville. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Horn, the former Caroline W. Meyer, was born August 22, 1887, in
Welcome Township, Sioux County, Ia. She was married April 28, 1908, in Fulda,
Minn., to John Horn. He died March 30, 1931. The Horn family came to Greenwood
in 1911 and farmed in the Greenwood area. When she retired in 1945, she moved to
the city of Greenwood. Mrs. Horn was a member of the Zion United Church, the
Zion Women’s Guild, the Suffragettes and the Canasta clubs.
Surviving
are a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Elenor) Johnson of Malta, Ill.; two sons, Raymond of
Loyal and Dale of Greenwood; three step-daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Anna) Peterson
and Mrs. Eric (Edna) Carlson of Marengo, Ill., and Mrs. Peder (Theresa)
Danielson of Woodstock, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
