Bracken, Sheridan T. (27 January 1893 - 10 November 1966)
Funeral
services were held Saturday afternoon for Sheridan T. Bracken, 73, of
Neillsville, who died here last Thursday. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of the
Methodist Church officiated at services from the Georgas Funeral Home. Burial
was made in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
Mr. Bracken was born
January 27, 1893, in Eau Claire, and was educated there. For a number of years
he was employed there by the Gillette Rubber Company. In 1926, he came to Clark
County, where he was engaged in farming. He served as an auxiliary mail carrier
for several years. He also worked at the Eau Claire County Hospital and for 10
years was employed in the Wood County Hospital.
The Brackens returned to
Neillsville in 1959. On July 5, 1916, he was married in Eau Claire to the former
Margaret Hill.
Mr. Bracken is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs.
Clifford (Marie) Elliott of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Earl (Frances) Trickey of
Milwaukee; and by a son, Sheridan T. Bracken, Jr., of Seattle, Wash. Other
survivors include 26 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Otto Dux, John
Swenson, Oscar Walk, Leonard Sollberger, Peter Rand and George E. Stanton. Mrs.
Iris Musil played the organ.

Mrs. H. O. Garlie and Mr. and Mrs. Claire Ritsch of Eau Claire; Louis Muto of
Fairchild; Mrs. Rex Copper of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jacobson of Baldwin;
Mrs. LeRoy Hilmanowske and Mr. and Mrs. J. Hilmanowske of Baldwin; Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Peck of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Brown, Dick Hughes, Clara Uhlig, Mr.
and Mrs. C. Kind of Marshfield; Mrs. Sina Huge and Mrs. Michael Peterson of
Black River Falls.
