Columbia (17 November 1966)

The deer seem to sense the oncoming slaughter and also are seeking a hideout or a sanctuary. Of one thing we are sure - there will be hunters, hunters, hunters!

Georgeana Schulz accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aspen and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Vornholt of Neillsville to Minneapolis Saturday, where they attended burial services for Mrs. Fred Montman, who recently died at her home in Saratoga, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Poertner of Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Stanley A. Pekol and Pamela of Neillsville, were guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. George Poertner. Oscar and George Poertner are brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Danny Dormady and three children of Alma Center, and Mr. and Mrs. William Rieder, were guests Sunday at the George Poertner home.

Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin and Tarra attended a birthday party at the Carl Eslinger home in Weston Friday evening, in honor of Mrs. Eslinger’s birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Poertner were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yndogliato in Pine Valley Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Jonkel and family of Huron, S. D., also were guests.

Mrs. Al Mashin of Neillsville spent Thursday with Mrs. George Mashin and Tarra.

Ernest Sollberger of Athens visited the George Poertners, and the John and William Sollbergers Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mashin of Humbird visited the George Mashins recently.
