Mathias, Sharon J. (Marriage - 12 November 1966)
The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kaukauna was the setting Saturday
for the wedding of Sharon J. Mathias, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Otto of
Kaukauna, and Edwin W. Meissner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Meissner of Rt. 1
Chili. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Mattek before an
altar graced with baskets of bronze and yellow chrysanthemums.
Three
hundred guests witnessed as Mr. Otto presented his daughter in marriage.
For her wedding, the bride chose a rich white velvet floor-length gown, styled
with a scoop neckline and long, tapered sleeves. The floor length skirt of lacy
sheath design was trimmed with imported re-embroidered Alencon lace, and was
highlighted by tiny seed pearls. The double floor length removable chapel swept
train, fastened at the back waistline, was trimmed with imported lace. Her
Elizabethan styled head piece, embellished with pearls and crystal tear drops,
held her elbow length veil. The bridal bouquet consisted of yellow roses and
white carnations centered with an orchid.
Miss Sandra Meissner of Chili
was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Darlene Thiele of Kaukauna, Miss Linda Beil
of Chili, and Mrs. Robert Dahlke of Granton. The attendants wore floor length
dresses fashioned with brocade bodices and crepe skirts. Watteau trains of
brocade were fastened to the back shoulderline. Small hair braid hats held their
blusher veils and floor length illusion streamers. Each carried a bouquet of
bronze chrysanthemums.
William Mathias, brother of the bride, was best
man. Groomsmen were Roger Hansen of Marshfield, Ronald Meissner of Markesan, and
Robert Dahlke of Granton. Ushers were Gary Mathias of Kaukauna and LaVerne
Meissner of Chili.
The bride, a 1965 graduate of Kaukauna High School,
has been employed in a rest-home in Kaukauna. Mr. Meissner, a 1964 graduate of
Marshfield Senior High School is engaged in farming on Rt. 1 Chili, where they
will reside on their return from a wedding trip in Wisconsin and Michigan.
