McConnell, Sharon (5 AUG 1961)
Peach colored gladioli were used to
decorate the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood for the Saturday,
Aug. 5, 1961 marriage ceremony of Miss Sharon Ann McConnell, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James McConnell, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Leland Dale Mayenschein,
Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtiss Mayenschein, Thorp.
The 10 a.m.
service was conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Edward E. Hartung.
The
bride wore a white floor length dress of silk organza with satin appliques and
featuring a rounded neckline. Her fingertip veil was secured to an orange
blossom crown and her flowers were pink roses and white stephanotis.
Miss
Kathleen McConnell, Greenwood, was maid of honor and Mrs. Carolyn Kohlnhofer of
Greenwood, Miss Karen Harring Pope, Chicago, were bridesmaids.
Norman
Mayenschein, Greenwood, was best man. Terry McConnell, Greenwood, and Lyle
Christie and Jim Reineking, both of Milwaukee, were groomsmen; and Donald
Larson, Greenwood, and Jerry Bizjak, Milwaukee, ushered.
Mrs.
Mayenschein, who has been a teacher in Green Bay, is a 1960 graduate of Mount
Mary College, Milwaukee, and a member of Phi Alpha Theta Sorority. Her husband,
who was graduated in 1956 from Greenwood High School, is employed by
Allen-Bradley Corp., Milwaukee, where the newlyweds will reside.
