Stroming, Mary Lou (19 AUG 1961)

Glads of varying colors decorated the altar of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, for the marriage of Miss Mary Lou Stroming, Thorp, and David F. Hibbard, Wauwatosa. Rev. Robert Olson performed the four p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 19, 1961. Miss Linda Tieman sang “The Song of Ruth” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stroming, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mrs. Zeke Radcliff, Tomahawk.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of nylon net and Chantilly lace. The molded bodice fashioned with the full length sleeves and scalloped neckline set with seed pearls and iridescent sequins accented the full ruffled skirt of nylon net and its Chantilly lace overskirt. A crown of seed pearls held her fingertip veil and she carried a bouquet consisting of daisy pompoms and yellow carnations entwined with trailing ivy.

Mrs. Robert Hearley, Tomahawk, was her sister’s matron of honor, wearing a gown of light lavender organza over lavender satin styled with full puff sleeves. She wore a lavender headpiece to match her dress and carried a bouquet of daisies entwined with training ivy.

Robert Hibbard, Wauwatosa, was his brother’s best man, and ushers were the bride’s brother Raymond Stroming Jr., Tomahawk and Roger Stroming, Thorp.

A reception for 175 guests was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church parlors.

The bride attended Tomahawk High School, Thorp High School and Eau Claire Beauty School, and was employed as a beautician by Arlene’s Beauty Shop, Thorp. The groom attended Tomahawk High School and is a machine operator by Owen’s Illinois Box Plant, Milwaukee.

After a wedding trip to Wis. Dells, the new Mr. and Mrs. Hibbard will be at home at 1421 N. 68th St., Wauwatosa, Wis.
