Jerry Peterson arrived Sunday from
Anchorage, Alaska to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Peterson, and with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Voss, and
family at Christie.
The Adult Fellowship Christmas party was held in
Immanuel United Church. Guests were members of Zion Church. Christmas carols
were sung. Devotions were given by the Rev. David Logue, who also read the
Christmas story. Games were played, in charge of George Kuester, Mrs. Phillip
Vollrath and Mrs. Herbert Horn. Gifts were exchanged and a potluck lunch was
served. The next meeting will be held January 1. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs.
LeRoy Fravert, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Horn.
Mrs. Cora Myhrwold, who resides here with her son, the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, and
family, left Friday for Glendora, Cal., to spend the holidays with her
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Larson and family.
Mrs.
Arthur (Laura) Humke was taken by ambulance Sunday evening to the Memorial
Hospital in Neillsville, following a slight stroke.
James Ackermann,
eight-year-old son of Captain and Mrs. Carl Ackermann, is ill with virus
pneumonia and is a patient at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
Mrs. Mike
Briski, Sr., who fell at her home Friday, was taken by ambulance to Memorial
Hospital in Neillsville Saturday.
Saturday afternoon Santa Claus will be
in Greenwood. He will make an appearance at the Ritz Theatre and will be the
official host at two “Free Shows”. As the youngsters leave the theatre Santa
will present each child with a gift bag. The first free show will begin at 12:30
and the second at 2:30 p.m. The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, Rotary club and
the American Legion Post are co-sponsors of this event.
The American
Lutheran Church women of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Longwood were
entertained Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold in Greenwood.
Arvin Liebzeit was dismissed Friday from Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville.
Sunday guests at the Robert Stewart home were Robert Stewart
and children, David, Eddie and Doris, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Korn and
children, Paul and Diane, of Stanley.
Mr. and Mrs. William Dallman of
Cochrane spent several days with relatives and friends and attended the “Open
House” at the Clark Electric Cooperative.
Mrs. Kenneth Bartel of Wautoma
spent the weekend in Greenwood.
Glen Stewart and son, Alan, of Eau Claire
visited Friday evening with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Humke and daughters, Christie and Shelley, of Rochester,
Minn., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, and with
his father, Theodore Humke, at Memorial Home in Neillsville.
