Morse, Anna (4
March 1881 - 15 December 1966)
Funeral services were held Monday
afternoon from the Christie Methodist Church for Mrs. Anna (Alonzo) Morse, 85,
of Neillsville, who died last Thursday in Neillsville. The Rev. Carl Booher of
Greenwood officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Weston Cemetery in
Christie.
Mrs. Morse, the former Anna Heintz, was born March 4, 1881, in
Dodge County. At the age of 10 she came with her parents, the late Nicholas and
Gertrude (Schaefer) Heintz, to Clark County. She was educated in the county’s
rural schools and lived in Christie area most of her lifetime.
On March
11, 1902, she was married to Alonzo Morse in Winona, Minn. Mr. Morse died in
1949. Since his death Mrs. Morse had made her home with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Strangfeld, in the Town of Pine Valley. Since
1963, she had been a resident of Memorial Home in Neillsville.
She is
survived by eight children: Mrs. W. L. (Cecelia) West of Connell, Wash.; Paul
Morse of Paris, Ill.; Mrs. Fred (Mabel) Buchholz, Ernest Morse, both of
Neillsville; Mrs. George (Gertrude) Bannach of Milwaukee; Lester Morse of
Greenwood; Mrs. William (Josephine) Strangfeld of Neillsville; and Mrs. Darrell
(Viola) Truax of Kenosha. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Carrie Marx of
Westfield, N. Y.; 27 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Morse
was a former member of the Christie Methodist Church.

Funeral services
for Mrs. Anna Morse, 85, of Neillsville, were held December 19, from the
Christie Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Booher of Greenwood officiating.
Burial was made in the Town of Weston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Kenneth
Loberg, Everett Shaw, Lee Mills, Alfred and Peter Boon and Lawrence Bohnsack.
“Does Jesus Care” and “Have Thine Own Way” were sung by Mrs. Donald Schultz
and Mrs. Grant Slone. Mrs. Slone also was the accompanist.
People from
out of town here for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Morse of Paris, Ill.;
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mueller and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Bannach and family
of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Spaete and family of Belvidere, Ill.; Mr.
and Mrs. Leland Appleyard of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bizjak and Edward,
Lester Morse and Mrs. Glen Drew of Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Truax and
family of Kenosha.
