Attorney and Mrs. A.L. Devos of Neillsville were here on Wednesday.

Paul Beil and Chas. Voigt of Chili were here on business on Wednesday.

Mrs. Dave Williams went home to Neillsville on Saturday.

Miss Helen sparks spent Monday afternoon with friends at Chili.

Miss Blanche King went back to Crandon last Friday.

Casper Schaefer and Fred Seltrecht were Neillsville visitors on Monday.

Floyd Winn was at Marshfield on business on Monday.

Albert Strey went to Merrillan on Tuesday.

Mrs. Fred Dopp visited Chili friends Friday.

Mrs. Maurice Rustad of Chili was here Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rice Davis were Chili visitors on Monday.

Mrs. W.D. Rose is home from the hospital at Eau Claire since Friday.

Aug. Lautenbach and E.A. Beeckler were Neillsville visitors Saturday.

Mrs. Rella Osgood and Mrs. E.W. Crandall were Neillsville visitors last Friday.

Mrs. Fred Dankemyer of Chili was here and had dental work done Tuesday.

Mrs. Frank Downer is home from Rochster, Minn. since Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. H.C.F. witt and baby Irma of Lynn went to Clintonville on Saturday.

Mrs. Joe Goebel went to Neillsville Saturday evening and made an over Sunday visit with the Gustave Deutsch family.

Miss Marjorie Barager of Stevens Point is here visiting her sister Miss Iva Barager since Tuesday evening.

Miss Anna Sternitzky of Lynn went to Reedsburg Friday on a week or ten day visit to relatives.

Wm. Lazotte, Bill Strey, Webb Winn, Ferd. Reichert and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Riedel were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

Theodore Riedel is getting on very nicely since going to the hospital at Eau Claire, and is expected home yet this week.

Mrs. Otis Beardsley and children of Niagara returned from their visit to Neillsville relatives Tuesday and are again at the H.A. King home.

Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Knorr, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jahr and Miss Clara Jahr were at Neillsville Tuesday evening to attend the C.E. lecture.

Miss Amalie Larson of Route 4 came home from Evansville Wednesday on account of the illness of her mother, Mrs. Ole Larson.

Mrs. Ben Dudei, with Mrs. Fred Sternitzky and baby Ruth, visited Mrs. Louis Garbush at Dorchester two weeks ago.

Mrs. H.E. Williams, Mrs. John Breese, Mrs. Fred Schlinsog and Mrs. H.F. Lawson were at Neillsville last Friday.

Miss Rose Viergutz went to Rochester, Minn. Friday on an extended visit to relatives. Her mother Mrs. Albert Viergutz is now quite well again.

Geo. Frei Sr. was pleasantly surprised two weeks ago when his neighbors and friends from quite a distance gave him a birthday party. The night was cold and rainy and George was sitting beside the stove removing his shoes in making preparations for retiring when the crowd entered and took possession, driving all thought of sleep from George’s mind until long after midnight, when after a big feed, the goodbyes were said.

Howard Canfield’s team ran away Monday morning. Starting on the right of way east of the depot they ran up the Beaver hill and getting into a mixup at the Witte Sorte, got loose from the wagon and ran up Main Street until stopped by Henry Grassman. The greatest loss through the escapade was the loss of groceries and provision which were turned out of the wagon and onto the ground in such shape as to be beyond recovery -- beans and sugar.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davis visited Neillsville relatives for the weekend.

H.S. Agin is having his big front porch screened. Albion Downer is doing the work.

County Supt. Miss Elizabeth Kennedy was visiting schools in this vicinity on Wednesday.

Crandall’s Orchestra will give a dance at Chili tomorrow, Saturday night. Everybody is invited.

Mrs. L.N. Hungerford of Nasonville, after a week’s visit at Frank Davis’, went home Tuesday.

Victor Cole, Bert Hayden, Guy Winn, Jesse Rowe and Wm. Rowe were county seat visitors on Monday.

Roy Wright came down from Ladysmith Monday and spent a day visiting relatives and old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braatz are home from Wausau since Monday evening.

Frank Covnerse went to Melrose Saturday on an extended visit to the Fay Stratton family.

Willie West and Wm. Schaefer were visiting rleatives at the Marshfield Hospital last Friday.

Miss Esther Sparks went to Chili Monday for an extended stay with Mrs. Tom Gibson.

Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Agin spent Monday with Mrs. Frank Potter at Neillsville.

Mrs. Harry Eide of Chili was here on business Saturday and drove home in a new Ford car.

Aug. Bealer of Chili has a new Ford car which was driven home from here Saturday.

Mrs. Chas. Helm went to Neillsville Saturday and made an over Sunday visit to Miss Clara Drescher.

Rev. J. Reiff is attending a conference at Seymour since Monday. He is expected home today.

Mrs. Mabel Anders, who makes her home here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Grabe, went to Madison Saturday on a visit to her sister, Mrs. John Mabie.

District Supt. J.W. Irish of Eau Claire was in town last Friday morning in conference with local pastor Geo. Crow, and the church stewards.

Mrs. Herman Zastrow of Superior visited relatives in the Wm. Sotrm family Monday and left for home Tuesday morning, accompanied by her niece Miss Frieda Storm, who will visit there indefinitely.

Fred W. Davis is very ill with the grippe at the home of his son W.S. Davis here in the village, since Wednesday. His daughter Mrs. John Pietenpol is assisting in his care since Wednesday evening.

At the meeting of the Windfall Cemetery Association held last Monday afternoon, Chester Finnigan was elected president in place of L.G. Morris. The association is in good financial circumstances.

Mrs. Augusta Riedel leaves this morning on an extended visit between her daughters, Mrs. Lorenz Kohl of Marshfield, Mrs. Will Rinehart and Mrs. Emil Hubing of Athens.

Miss Frieda Williams is visiting at Max Opelt’s in the town of Levis since Wednesday. She is expected home tomorrow.

Albert Strey came home from Alma Center Wednesday. He bought a pair of 4 month old Red Duroc pigs while there and had them shipped up by express.

C.S. Stockwell of Neillsville came Wednesday to establish sidewalk grades and lines for the villagers who are contemplating putting in new walks this spring.

Miss Lettie Paulson, a professional nurse belonging to the Red Cross Society, came up from Chicago yesterday for a short visit with relatives here and at Nasonville. She may soon be leaving for Europe and makes this visit presumably as a farewell.

Mrs. Schmidt of Loyal, after a week’s visit at Otto Yankee’s and with her brother Carl Krause, went home last Saturday. Mr. Krause is now so that he is up and about the house some daily, although as yet under his physician’s care, and it is not expected that he will be able to be of any assistance on the farm this year. His burns were so deep that his recovery is necessarily very slow and painful.

Mr. and Mrs. Flay Curtis and baby Ethel of Heathville left for Livingston, Mont. on Monday for a summer’s sojourn, at least.

Mrs. Lilia Converse is home from a winter’s stay in Indiana and visit to Melrose since last Friday.

Mrs. A.C. Holmes spent last Friday and Saturday here with her sister, Mrs. Frank Converse.

Miss Mollie Kidd went to Chili Friday and made a several days stay and visit with her aunt, Mrs. Ferrell.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Crosby went to Neillsville Friday evening to visit their son E.W. Crosby and his family.

Geo. Mortimer went to Glenwood City Saturday and returned home Monday evening.

Will Dahl of Medford visited relatives here the first of the week and went home Tuesday morning.

Miss Hilda Schaefer spent Wednesday with her mother at the Marshfield Hospital.

Roy Hart of Humbird, enroute to Marshfield Wednesday, greeted old friends at the depot that noon.

Mrs. Chas. Babcock came over from Neillsville Wednesday for a visit at Ed Schroeder’s.

Lew Smith, Alfred Gerber and Alvin Reichert were Marshfield visitors on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Feldbaum of Holstein are here on a visit at Peter Stallman’s.

Henry Riedel, who was here to attend his mother’s funeral several weeks ago, returned to Rib Falls early last week.

Mrs. Newton Toptine and baby Hildegarde, after a couple of weeks visit at Geo. Toptine’s on route 4, went home to Neillsville Friday evening.

Miss Edith Kempin, after a few weeks stay with Mrs. Hale Davis, went home to Chili on Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Baer and daughter Helene spent the weekend with relatives in the C.S. Stockwell home at Neillsville.

The Mesdames Wm. and Mike Seidelman of the town of York spent last Saturday at Marshfield visiting their sister-in-law Mrs. Henry Seidelman of Neillsville, who is again a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
