High School Notes (12 NOV 1914)
Alvin Schultz entered school Monday,
taking post-graduate work in the Commercial Department.
The Sophomore
boys were entertained at the home of Raymond Brameld Tuesday evening.
The
Short Course begins next Monday morning and continues eighteen weeks. A large
number have registered for this work and it is necessary to add another row of
seats to the assembly room.
Last Friday evening the Night-in-gales
enjoyed their first social evening, and although several of the birds were not
able to attend, the remainder of the flock flew about and had a most enjoyable
time. They were first entertained in the assembly room where all joined in many
appropriate games. From here they were escorted to the domestic science room
where delicious refreshments were served by the committee, Marie Bruley, Lillian
Eppling, Edna Tragsdorf, Esther Jackson, and Isadora Forman. Mesdames Rood and
Omart and Miss Roycroft were appointed honorary members of the flock. The
committee is to be congratulated and it is hoped that other social evenings will
prove as successful as the first.
Mr. Stevenson visited his family at La
Crosse Saturday and Sunday.
Mr. Rood and Miss MacDonald were in
attendance at the State Teachers’ Convention Thursday and Friday.
Don’t
forget the great lecture on Radium, Liquid Air and Wireless Telegraphy at the
high school auditorium Thursday evening. This lecture has been secured by the
students of the high school and it is hoped that there will be a large
attendance.
