Furlong, Edward
(1834? - 14 NOV 1914)
Edward Furlong, one of the pioneer settlers of
Clark County, died last Saturday at the home of his daughter at Columbus, Ohio,
aged 80 years. The remains were brought here Monday and were interred at the
side of the deceased’s wife in the Neillsville Cemetery. Walter Pennock,
son-in-law of Mr. Furlong, accompanied the remains here and he was joined by
Francis Furlong, son of the deceased, who came down from Minneapolis. Edward
Furlong was one of the prominent men of Neillsville in the early days and during
his residence here was foremost in all public movements and was generally liked
by all and universally honored and respected. It is regrettable that at this
time a more complete history of his life cannot be secured, but an endeavor will
be made next week to give it.
