Carl, Mrs. Arthur (86th - 1985)

Mrs. Arthur Carl was very much surprised Sunday for her 86th birthday when a group of her former Mound School students paid a visit. Mrs. Carl taught from 1919-21. Her daughter Marion Ray, who arranged the party held at Mary Lou’s Restaurant, also made the birthday cake.

Harnisch, Holly Ann (Birth – 14 February 1985)

Tom and {Pam Harnisch, rural Neillsville, became parents of a daughter on February 14, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Holly Ann weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Theirl of Stanley and Margaret Harnisch of Onalaska.

Schoenfeld, Mabel (88th - 1985)

A dinner was held February 10 at Mabel Schoenfeld’s apartment for her 88th birthday. Her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Turner, Wis. Rapids; and Irene Turner, Harriett Triska, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schoenfeld, Carol Grassman and girls of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Turner and Mrs. George Turner were present.

The birthday celebrant confined to her apartment and uses a walker, so she appreciated all the folks who came to make her day.

Martens, Tammy Lee (14 February 1985)

A garden wedding was to be held today, (Thursday, February 14) in Clearwater, Florida, for Tammy Lee Martens and Timothy Burr. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Martens of 1109 Hewett St., and Dorothy Burr, 117 West 10th St., Neillsville. The bride is a 1981 graduate of Marshfield Senior High and is employed in the sales division of Figi’s of Marshfield. The groom, a 1980 graduate of Neillsville High School, is employed at Northern Auto in Neillsville.

Waltemate, Roberta Lynn (14 February - 1985)

Roberta Lynn Waltemate and Larry Nielsen were united in marriage on Valentine’s Day, February 14, in 2:00 p.m. ceremonies. The Rev. Richard Weber officiated at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Parents of the couple are Earl and JoAnn Waltemate, R. 4 Neillsville, and Henry and Beatrice Nielsen, Rt. 2 Greenwood.

Attending the couple were Rochelle Seliskar, the bride’s sister of Owen. Bestman was Jeff Venett, a friend from Greenwood. Ushering was Roger Waltemate, the bride’s brother of Neillsville.

Music for the service was offered by Sharon Nemitz.

The bride chose a satin gown, featuring Tulle lace, three-quarter sleeves and high neckline. She carried a bouquet of white, peach and turquoise silk roses. Her attendant wore a jacketed gown in a dusty rose hue; she wore a corsage composed of flowers similar to that carried by the bride. The groom and best man wore formal suits and ties.

Following the ceremonies, a reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen will make their home in Neillsville. The bride attends Neillsville High School. The groom graduated from Greenwood High School and is employed by Lynn Protein.
