Hanson, Jean E. (5 AUG 1895 - 19 DEC 1961)
Mrs.
Jean E. Hanson, 66, of 211 Walnut Ave., St. Charles, Ill., passed away
unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Dec. 19, 1961, while enroute to San Diego, Calif.
to visit her daughter, Mrs. William (Marion) Ziehl. Stricken aboard the
Milwaukee railroad’s “City of Los Angeles” shortly before its arrival at La
Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Hanson was pronounced dead on arrival at the Las Vegas hospital
where she was taken by ambulance.
Born Aug. 5, 1895 in Thorp (Clark Co.),
Wis., she came to St. Charles in 1916 with her husband Carl. The couple operated
the Hanson Transfer Co. here for many years. He preceded her in death in 1959.
Besides her daughter in San Diego, she is survived by one son, Charles, of
St. Charles, three grandchildren and one brother, Veedel Boardman of Stanley,
Wis.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 22 at 1:30 p.m. from the
Yurs Funeral Home.
