132nd WI Army National
Guard Band (Summer Tour - 2012)
The 132nd Wisconsin Army National Guard
Band will be performing throughout the state of Wisconsin as part of its annual
summer tour.
The 132nd Army Band is composed of approximately 50-60
soldier musicians who live in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa, but proudly
represent the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Based out of the National Guard
State Headquarters in Madison, these citizen soldiers come together
approximately one weekend per month and two weeks during the summer.
As a
part of their summer tour, the 132nd Wisconsin Army National Guard Band will be
performing at Thorp’s July Music in the park event on Tuesday, July 10, at 7:00
p.m. at Northside Park. Fireworks will follow at dusk.
The band
entertains troops and civilians all over the State of Wisconsin and in the past
several years has also traveled to Germany, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. The
versatility of the band is apparent with their many performing ensembles to
include: concert band, ceremonial band, jazz band, jazz combo, rock band, brass
quintet, woodwind quintet, sax ensemble, and trombone quartet.
