Elton, Ella (1892 - December 1966)

Funeral services were held December 20 from the Northwest Prairie Lutheran Church for Mrs. Oscar Elton, 74, of Viroqua, formerly of the Longwood area, who died at the Viroqua Hospital following a stroke. The Rev. O. John Nesheim officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Elton, the former Ella Yttri, who was born in Vernon County, was married in 1919 to Oscar Elton. They came immediately to the town of Longwood, where they farmed until going to the Viroqua area, where they resided ever since.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Harland (Helen) Broten of West Prairie, and two grandchildren.

Those who attended from Greenwood were Mrs. Harry Gordee, Miss Avis Gordee, Mrs. Emma Hium, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Franz, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Conrad and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Capes.
