Elton, Ella (3 August 1892 - 15 December 1966)

Mrs. Ella Elton was born to Toge T. and Agatha Yttri on August 3, 1892, at West Prairie, in the Town of Sterling, and passed away suddenly at the Vernon Memorial Hospital December 15, 1966, at the age of 74 years, four months and 12 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Northwest Prairie Church. On September 24, 1919, she was united in marriage to Oscar Elton of West Prairie. They moved to Longwood in Clark County, where they resided until 1935, when they moved back to the West Prairie area in the Town of Sterling, where they have resided since.

Mrs. Elton was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Henry, and a sister, Mrs. Louis (Eda) Solberg.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Harley (Helen) Brothen; two grandchildren, Karen Rebecca and mark Randall; two sisters, Mrs. H. P. Grimsby of Minneapolis and Anna Yttri of West Prairie; two brothers, John of Viroqua and Edwin of West Prairie; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson of Woodville, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Capes of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Conrad of Longwood, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Franz, Mrs. Emma Hium, Mrs. Stella Gordee and Avis of Greenwood attended the funeral of their former neighbor and relative.

Funeral services were held December 20, at 1:30 p.m., in the Northwest Prairie Lutheran Church, with the Rev. O. J. Nesheim officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
