Greub, Effie (22 June 1899 - 27 January 1967)
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the United Church of Christ for
Mrs. Carl (Effie) Greub, 67, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died Friday in
Marshfield. The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated.
Burial was made in the Mentor Cemetery near Humbird.
Mrs. Greub, the
former Effie Hardwick, was born June 22, 1899, in Shady Grove, Ia., coming to
Clark County at age of three years. The family located at Humbird. On September
10, 1918 she was married to Carl Greub in Neillsville. Following their marriage
they farmed in the Humbird, Neillsville and Granton areas. Mrs. Greub was a
member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, the York Center Homemakers
club and the York Center Community club.
She is survived by her husband;
two daughters, Hrs. Hubert (Gladys) Green of Humbird and Mrs. Louis (Esther)
Ziegler of Willard; a brother, Clarence Hardwick of Cambria; 11 grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Alvin, Kenneth,
Robert R. and Ralph Green; Edmund Noyes and Wayne Ziegler.
“Asleep in
Jesus” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” were sung by Mrs. W. C. Koehler,
accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
