Frantz, Carl Rudolph (16 June 1872 - 30 January 1967)
Carl Rudolph Frantz, 94, of 309 State Street, Neillsville, died Monday in
Neillsville. Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 3
o’clock from the Georgas Funeral home. The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the united
Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Rudy Frantz was born June 16, 1872, in Clark County and was a
Neillsville area resident his entire lifetime. He attended school in Neillsville
and worked in lumbering camps. He also farmed in the Pine Valley and Shortville
areas, and served for several years as supervisor of the Town of Pine Valley.
While residing in the Shortville community he served as director of the old
Shortville Creamery Company. The family moved to Neillsville in 1917. Mr. Frantz
worked for many years for the Clark county Highway department as a patrol
operator and for 37 years was its blacksmith.
On March 20, 1896, he was
married to the former Elizabeth Hohenstein in Clark County. She died in 1956.
He was a member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge, No. 198, of Neillsville.
Mr.
Frantz is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ruby) Volkmann of Neillsville
and Mrs. Cecil (Clara) McLyman of Duluth, Minn.; a grandchild and three
great-grandchildren.
