Sturgeon, Geraldine (18 January
1903 - 27 January 1967)
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from
St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Geraldine Gault Sturgeon, 64, of Anaheim,
Cal., who died Friday in Minneapolis, Minn., while enroute from Superior to
Anaheim. The Rev. George M. Nelson officiated. Burial was made in the parish
cemetery.
Mrs. Sturgeon, the former Geraldine Farning, was born January
18, 1903, in Clark County, the daughter of the late William and Lugardia
(Jacklin) Farning, longtime residents of Neillsville. She was a graduate of
Neillsville High School and for many years was employed as a clerk in the
Farmers Store.
Her marriage to Merrill Gault took place in August, 1923.
Mr. Gault died in 1937. In 1944 she was married to Frank Sturgeon, who died in
1964. She was a Neillsville resident until 1944, when she moved to Superior and
later to Owen, and in 1959 the family moved to California.
Mrs. Sturgeon
had been hospitalized from Thanksgiving Day top Christmas in a Superior Hospital
after suffering an apparent heart attack.
She was a member of St.
Phillips Catholic Church in Fullerton, Cal., and the C.C. D.
Survivors
include nine children: Mrs. John (Shirley) Wyer of Ripon, Mrs. Henry (Margaret)
Butler of Anaheim, Cal., Mrs. Harry (Patsy) Madison of Chicago, Ill., Miss
Jonette Sturgeon of Anaheim, Cal., George W., James and Merrill Gault of
Superior, Sgt. Raymond Gault with the Army in Vietnam, and Stephen Gault of
Bristol, R. I. Other survivors are: a sister, Mrs. William (Leona) Hughes of
Milwaukee; and 23 grandchildren.
The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge
of funeral arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Alfred Dux, Leslie Keuer,
Forrest Gault, Garald Hart, Rex Krejci and Henry Wasserberger.

and Danny, Mrs. Ruth Ingersoll and Donlesa, of Sullivan; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Farning of Colby; Mrs. Erlin Dahl, Mrs. Duane Anding and Mrs. Evelyn Dimen of
Granton and Mrs. Harry Middleton of Beaver Dam.
