Northern Clark County (9 February1967)
The American
Legion and auxiliary of Thorp held their February meeting in the Legion Hall.
Mrs. Lillian Hedler, chairman, gave the topic, “Americanism.” Lunch committee
consisted of Mrs. Mary Soderberg, Mrs. Elmer Sachs, Mrs. Christine Zarada and
Mrs. Raymond Giwojna. Those in charge of the evening’s entertainment were Mrs.
Louise Szmanski and Mrs. Mike Kryzanski.
Bruno Lato of Thorp is a
hospital patient in Marshfield. He was visited recently by his son, Robert Lato
of Wausau, and by his sister, Mrs. Anna Kmieciak.
Tom Polnaszek and Bill
Vanderhyden, both of Thorp, recently drove to the veterans’ hospital at Ft.
Snelling, Minn., where they underwent a physical examination.
Mr. and
Mrs. Dick Wagner of Deerfield were recent weekend guests at the W. S. Wagner
home in Thorp. Others spending the weekend at the Wagner home were Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Bogumill of Holcombe.
Bill Polnaszek, son and daughter of Union
Grove, were recent weekend guests at the Tom Polnaszek home in Thorp.
Mrs. Albert Kodl of Thorp has been a surgical patient in the Marshfield
hospital.
Mrs. Anna Smitke of Thorp, who has been staying with the Alfred
Kass family since the death of her husband, has gone to Neillsville to spend the
winter months with her daughters, Mrs. John Bryan, Mrs. Elmer Dodmead and Mrs.
Frank Matousek.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schultze of Greenwood were recent
visitors at the Virgil Bobb home in Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Price and
daughter of Rochester, Minn., were recent dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Dubicki in Thorp. In the afternoon they visited at the Bill Tobola home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jarl Schiebe and family of Marshfield were weekend guests at the
Art Jacques home in Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. John Badzinski have returned to
Thorp from a weekend visit with their children in Waupaca.
Mr. and Mrs.
Layton Asselin of Thorp have returned from a weekend visit with relatives in Eau
Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Roesler of Thorp were guests recently at the
Daniel Wolters and Mrs. Bertha Castner homes in Loyal.
Mr. and Mrs. John
Geving and son of Elgin AFB, Fla., have arrived in Thorp and are staying with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Vanderhyden. Mr. Geving has been in the air
force for four years.
