Funeral Services were held
Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Joe Walter, 64,
who died at her home about 11:30 p.m. August 6. of a heart attack. The Rev.
Norbert E. King officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery. A general
rosary service was held Tuesday evening.
The Pallbearers were Ed.
Rogstad, George Schmidt, Allie Schmidt, Phillip Scheckleman, Albert Scheckleman
and Joe Hoeser.
The former Margaret Hauser was born on June 27, 1896 in
Dane County and was educated in the Hewett schools. As a young girl she moved to
Christie with her parents and on May 20, 1919 she married Joe Walter in St.
Mary’s Catholic church, Neillsville. The couple made their home on a farm in the
town of York until 1952 when they retired and moved to the city of Loyal. She
was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’a Altar Society.
Mrs. Walter is survived by her husband, three sisters, Mrs. John Schmidt,
Loyal; Mrs. Carl Roder, Loyal; Mrs. Tillie Schwellenbach, Neillsville and one
brother, Henry Hauser of Neillsville. She is also survived by seven daughters
and two sons, Mrs. Mike (Mary) Weyer, Loyal; Mrs. Norbert (Margaret) Krebs,
Hartford; Franklin Walter, Loyal, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Weyer, Loyal; Mrs. Lyle
(Eleanor) Berge, Milwaukee; Mrs. Jack (Anna) Wiczynski, Milwaukee; Mrs. Gerald
(Theresa) Lentz, Milwaukee Mrs. Ray (Clara) Scharpf, Hartford; and John Walter,
Hartford. Thirty grandchildren also survive her.
