Downer, Neil (1885 - 3 March 1967)

Funeral services were held from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton Sunday afternoon for Neil Downer, 82, of Rt. 1, Granton, who died Friday in Neillsville. The Rev. L. L. McCormick of Chili officiated. Burial was made in Windfall Cemetery.

Mr. Downer was born in 1885 in the Town of York, and had been a resident of that community his entire life. On December 4, 1909, he was married to the former Annice McHone, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Ross, of Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Aletha) Grimm, of Stratford; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Wright of Granton; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Donald Dayton, James Lee, Carl Sandberg, Louis Koran, Tom Forbish and Arnold Trachte.

Mrs. Albert Grimm of Chili was the organist.
