Baker, Earl (28 August 1889 - 2 February 1967)
Word has
been received here of the death of a former resident, Earl Baker, 77, of Wibaux,
Mont. He died February 2, in Glendive, Mont., of leukemia after three weeks’
illness. Services were held February 6, in Wibaux. Burial was made there.
Survivors include: his widow, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Don Knowles of Mesa,
Ariz., and Mis Frances Baker, Helena, Mont.; a sister, Mrs. Ben (Iva) Simonson
of Wibaux, Mont.; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Baker was born in St.
Paul, Minn., August 28, 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Baker. He resided in
Merrillan with his parents until the family moved to Wibaux County, Mont., in
1906, where he had since made his home. He was a brother of the late Mrs.
Rosella Burlingame of Merrillan, and a grandson of Elisha Stockwell, Sr., for
whom Stockwell Creek was named. Nephews in Merrillan are Ross, Dale and Lynn
Burlingame.
