Schwantes, William W.

William W. Schwantes, age 82, of Marshfield,
passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services will be held
at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield.
The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery
in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday,
July 11 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) and on
Thursday from 12:00 PM until time of services at the church.
William was
born on June 24, 1930 in Colby, WI, the son of Walter and Ruth (Buck) Schwantes.
He and his high school sweetheart, Beverly, graduated from Dorchester High
School together and were later married on September 19, 1953 in Menomonie, WI.
William attended UWSP and joined the National Guard.
He and Beverly were
owners of Lynn Dairy in Granton. They retired in 1988 and moved to Marshfield.
William enjoyed traveling, boating, reading, cars and riding his motorcycle.
He was a member and officer of Central Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association
and received numerous awards for their cheese, including World Championship
Cheese. They were also honored as "Granton Citizens of the Year" in 1999.
William was also a member, treasurer and pancake chef at Zion Lutheran Church in
Granton and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield.
William is
survived by his wife, Beverly, his Sons, William (Nanette) and their children,
Taylor, Luke and Regan; Paul (Jodi), and their daughters, Sydney and Carly; his
Daughter, Patricia (Mark) Begotka and their children, John, Kelly, Matthew and
Brooke; son-in-law, Richard Heinzen and his children, Brad and Teresa and his
soon-to-be-great-grandson, Drake.
He was preceded in death by his
daughter, Suzanne Heinzen, his parents, Walter and Ruth and two sisters in
infancy.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice and
Marshfield Senior Services Staff for their loving care and comfort they gave
William and the family.
