Mueller, Jeffrey M. (26 May 1955 – 16 Apr 2024)
Jeffrey Mark Mueller, age 68, of Abbotsford, passed away on Tuesday, April 16,
2024, at Marshfield Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Christ
Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Don Bruce will preside.
Interment will follow at Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Family and friends are
welcome on Friday, April 19, from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m.
until time of service, all at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in
Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
Jeff was born May 26, 1955, the son of Robert and Betty Lou (Oehler) Mueller in
Marshfield. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. On August 6, 1983, Jeff
was united in marriage to Lori Krueger at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.
Jeff owned and operated Abbotsford Appliance becoming the 2nd generation. He
loved going up to the north woods in Hayward and Clam Lake. Jeff enjoyed
hunting, riding his UTV, playing pickleball and basketball. He also enjoyed
going to the Medo’s and having coffee with the guys. Most importantly, he loved
and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori; his three children: Megan
Doffing of Abbotsford, Brandon (Ashley) of Medford and Jacob (Kelly) of Wausau;
eight grandchildren; two brothers: Wesley (Anita) Mueller of North Aurora, Ill.,
and Rusty (Darla) Mueller of Medford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Cecil and
Alice Oehler and his brother, Mike.

Zschernitz, Tanner (Scholarship - 2024)
Tanner Zschernitz, of Neillsville, is one of 43 Western Technical College
construction and industrial trade apprentices to receive a $2,000 scholarship
from Ascendium Education Group, a non-profit organization helping students
across the country repay federal student loans.
The scholarship money comes from the Tools of the Trade Apprentice Scholarship
program, which helps apprentices purchase tools, clothing and equipment vital to
their trades.

Buse, Jacqueline Kay “Jack” (8 April 1964 – 15 April 2024)
Jacqueline Kay “Jack” Buse, age 60, of Rosholt, passed away unexpectedly on
Monday, April 15, 2024, at her Home in the Town of Bevent.
.
Jackie was born on April 8, 1964, in Marshfield, the daughter of Donald and Mary
Jane (Glasby) Hebert. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Spencer. Following her graduation from Spencer High School, Jacqueline
attended UW-Green Bay and graduated from UW-Stevens Point. On September 3, 1988,
she was united in marriage to Kevin Buse at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in
Stevens Point. She was employed as an account manager at The Buyer’s Guide and
Worzalla Publishing in Stevens Point.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt. Jackie also was a part of
and supported both the Rosholt PTO as well as the Shantytown Snowmobile Club.
Jackie took pleasure in walking with her dogs and appreciated being outdoors,
working in her flower garden or out on the water cruising in her boat. She
enjoyed curling up with a good book. Jackie loved being out dancing and spending
time with her wonderful family and friends.
Those who will cherish her memory include: her loving husband, Kevin Buse of
Rosholt; her son, Keith Buse of Rosholt; her sisters, Sharon Malouvrh of
Cedarburg, Kathleen Stewart of Chetek and Mary Graves of Spencer; her brother,
Jeffrey (Jodi) Hebert of Spencer and her brother-in-law, DuWayne Matter of
Spencer. Jackie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and
close friends. Jackie will be missed by her loving and trusted “Liberty”.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Jane Hebert; her
in-laws, Wilbur and Delores Buse; a sister, Betty Matter; a brother, Roger
Hebert; a sister-in-law, Kay Hebert; her brothers-in-law, Bruce Stewart, Andrew
Malouvrh and Spencer Graves and lastly her many loving pets.
Jackie’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.

Halida, Harriet Todd (4 September 1936 – 14 April 2024)
Harriet T. Halida, age 87, of Loyal, passed away at Clark County Rehab & Living
Center in Owen, on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Harriet Todd Wald was born on September 4, 1936, in Stanley, to Harry and
Katherine L. (Samplawski) Wald. She was raised in Stanley where she received her
education, graduating from Stanley High School in 1954. She then attended
Stevens Point Normal School and received her teaching certificate. Harriet was
united in marriage to Lawrence J. Halida on May 28, 1955, at St. Mary's Polish
National Catholic Church in Lublin. She taught at the elementary school in
Poynette, and later taught special education in Sparta, In 1972, they moved into
Loyal where they lived until they finished building a home northeast of town and
began farming. Harriet farmed with her husband until retiring from farming in
2001. They resided in their home until moving to Clark County Rehab & Living
Center in 2021.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a Cub Scout Den Leader for
several years. Harriet had many interests, including spending time with her
family, her time spent on the farm, reading, playing cards, and watching the
Packers and Brewers. She also was a great animal lover, especially her cats, and
enjoyed traveling with her husband when they were younger. Harriet was a very
compassionate and understanding person who was loved by all.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Lawrence, of Loyal; her children: Lynn
Wilson of Weston, Kimberly Halida of Marshfield, Larry (Crystal) Halida of
Bowling Green, KY, and Cheryl Halida of Marshfield; five grandchildren: Katilyn
Halida, Tyler Halida, Bradley Schneider, Natalie Halida and Lindsay Halida; one
brother: Ken (Karen) Wald of Fountain City; three sisters: Jan (Daryl)
Neigebauer of Owatonna, MN, Mary (Craig) Schroeder of Morristown, MN and Debbie
(Jerry) Kjesbo of Altoona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harriet
was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate, and burial will
follow in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on
Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their support and compassion during
this time.

On Sunday, April 25, 1976, forty-five second graders from St. Bernard-St.
Hedwig’s Parish in Thorp made their First Communion.
Father Bill, Father John, and Father Brockman officiated at the 1:30 p.m. Mass.
During the Mass the children sang two hymns, This Little Light of Mine and Jesus
Loves the little children. They also participated in a candle lighting ceremony
where they repeated their Baptismal vows.
The teachers who instructed the First Communicants during the year included:
Margaret Plansky-Catholic School, Shirley Homan and Mary Ann Smasal-CCD, and
Roger Truckey the CCD Coordinators.

Three law enforcement officers from Clark County graduated Friday, May 7, 1976
from an eight-week law enforcement course at Menomonie.
They are Roger Zais and Louis Rosandich, both Clark County police radio
operators and deputy sheriff’s, and Donald Pawlak, Thorp, police officer.
Pawlak received the heist score on the pistol range, 98l22. All three men
finished high in their class of 22.

Romanowski, John (1957? – 1 May 1976)
A 19-year-old Thorp man critically injured in an auto crash Saturday, May 1,
1976, died early Friday, May 7, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
John Romanowski died of severe head injuries when the car in which he was riding
struck a power pole Saturday morning about seven miles south of Thorp on County
Trunk M.
His brother, Richard Romanowski, was pronounced death on arrival at Victory
Memorial Hospital in Stanley the day of the accident.
Mike Sauer, a third passenger, and Gerald Hodorowski, the driver, were also
injured in the accident.

The Thorp ambulance was called to the Tom Wadzinski residence at 200 W. Birch
Street, Thorp, about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 1976.
Wadzinski, who reportedly had a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was taken to
Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire by Thorp Ambulance, where Wednesday morning
he was reported to be in fair condition in the critical care unit.
Clark County and City Police Officers were also at the scene, where a rifle and
note were reportedly found.
