Wiltgen, Pauline (14 MAY 1867 - 20 JAN 1962)
Mrs.
Pauline Wiltgen, age 94, died of old age on Jan. 20, 1962 at the home of her
nephews, Gilbert A. Voelker, where she has resided for the past year and nine
months.
Mrs. Wiltgen was born at St. Anna, Wis. May 14, 1867, and spent
her life there until 1886 when she moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). She married
Michael Wiltgen in 1891, who preceded her in death in 1924.
Survivors are
a half-sister, Mrs. Katherine Weber, 98, of Thorp, Wis.. 3 sisters and 2
brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m.
at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Sunday, Jan. 23, 1962, with Rev. Michael
Mertens, Viroqua, Rev. John Curtiss, Eau Claire, Rev. Herbert Hoffman, Thorp,
officiating at the Solemn Requiem Mass.
Burial was in St. Bernard’s
Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: gilbert J. Voelker, Thorp; Francis
H. Voelker, St. Cloud, Minn.; Francis and Hugo Mertens of Thorp; John Hazuga,
Thorp; and Bernard Mertens, Thorp.
Out of town relatives to attend the
funeral of Pauline Wiltgen were Irma Jones of Altoona, Mr. and Mrs. Hilman
Voelker, St. Anna, Mrs. Ambrose Reiser, Chilton, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Voelker,
Elkhart Lake, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weix, Colby, Mrs. Elva Martens, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Mertens and son, Withee.
