Junchen, Anna (27 September 1879 - 26 March 1967)
Funeral services
were held Wednesday afternoon from the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town
of Grant for Mrs. Anna Junchen, 87, of Menasha, formerly of the Neillsville
area. The Rev. Evan Dieck officiated. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Junchen, who had come to spend Easer with her son, Harold, and his
family, died Sunday at his home.
She was born September 27, 1879, in
Jefferson County. As a young child her family moved into this area. She attended
Neillsville schools. She later worked in various cities before returning to
Neillsville. On November 25, 1908, she was married in Neillsville to the late
Ernest Junchen, who died in 1948. They farmed in the Town of Washburn until
1942, when they moved to Granton. She had made her home with her daughter in
Menasha since 1955.
Mrs. Junchen is survived by four children: Harold of
Rt. 1 Neillsville; Lawrence of Sherrard, Ill.; Miss Elmira Junchen of Menasha;
and Walter of Sioux Falls, S. D. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. F. A. (Emma)
Meyers of San Mateo, Cal.; a brother, Reinhold Pagenkojf of Sacramento, Cal.;
and a grandchild.
She was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church
in Town of Grant.
