Kuhn, Bernard (School Board
Candidate - 1967)
Mr. Kuhn has lived on the family farm in the town of
Washburn all his life. He had had the responsibility for the farm since 1934,
when his father was killed in a farm accident while he was still in high school.
He is the father of 14 children, nine of whom are at home, and seven of whom
attend Neillsville district schools.
Mr. Kuhn has served the Town of
Washburn as its assessor for the last eight years. He was a member of the
Washburn School building committee, is secretary-treasurer of the district Pure
Milk Products Cooperative local, and drove school bus for six years.
In
summarizing his interest in serving on the school board, Mr. Kuhn said: "The
cost of our schools is too much for what we are getting. The board of education
has delegated too much of its responsibilities to the superintendent and
principals. I feel the latter can do a better job if they have no other duties
than to take care of the educational area of the schools."
