Swenson, Fern
(School Board Candidate - 1967)
Mrs. Calvin (Fern Naedler) Swenson
presently is serving as interim 4-H club agent for Clark County, and served in
that capacity for a year earlier. She is the wife of Neillsville’s assistant
postmaster and the mother of four children, three boys and a girl, all of whom
are enrolled in the Neillsville Public School system.
Mrs. Swenson was
graduated from Neillsville High School and Stout State University, and taught
home economics in Iron Mountain, Mich., (two years) and Marshfield senior high
(1 ½ years). She recently resigned a position as interviewer for the University
of Wisconsin research laboratory after serving with that organization for four
years. She is a Cub Scout den mother, and chairman of the Neillsville area
cancer education committee.
Her reasons for seeking election to the
school board are three: "1. I have been associated with schools most of my life
as a student, teacher and parent, and feel qualified to represent the people. 2.
I feel the young people of the community are our greatest resource and deserve
the best education we can possibly provide for them; and 3. I am well aware of
the need for efficient management to prevent overburdening tax assessments."
