Edwardson, Adolph

Services were held for Adolph Edwards, former
Stanley resident, at the First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Wednesday
afternoon, the Rev. G.S. Thompson officiating. The committal services were
conducted by Rev. J.N. Midtlien at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley.
Adolph
Edwardson, 89, died at Luther Hospital Sunday evening, March 4, 1962. He was
born in Oslo, Norway, Sept. 25, 1872 and immigrated to Wisconsin in 1893. He
worked in a lumber yard at Cedar Falls and was married to Amanda Sorenson there
in 1896. They moved to Stanley in 1900 and established a farm south of Stanley
in 1902. He retired from farming in 1943 and moved to his present home in Eau
Claire. In June of 1961 they observed their 65th wedding anniversary. They had
five children. One son, Carl, preceded him in death.
Survivors include
his wife, Amanda, four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Myrtle) Boie, Thorp; Mrs. Roy
(Alvilda) Bye, Eau Claire; Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Qualheim, Sheldon, and Mrs.
Kenneth (Elinor) McGinnis, Eau Claire; 18 grandchildren and 50
great-grandchildren. Also she has one sister, Mrs. Oscar (Sophie) Christian,
Chicago, Ill.
