Graham, Roy C. (APR 1887 - 17 FEB 1962)
Roy C. Graham, 74, retired postmaster of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died
Saturday at the Veterans Hospital at Fort Snelling of complications of old age.
He was born in Eau Claire in April 1887 and was married to Josephine has July 6,
1917. They had made their home in Owen since 1919.
Mr. Graham is survived
to two daughters, Mrs. L.H. LeGault, Mound, Minn., and Mrs. G.T. Obreen of New
York City; one son, Douglas, Joliet, Ill; nine grandchildren and one sister,
Mrs. Hazel Quehl of Stevens Point.
Mr. Graham was a first lieutenant in
World War I and was a member of the Eau Claire and Owen American Legion posts.
He was an electrical contractor from 1920 to 1935, and was postmaster at Owen
from 1935 to 1957. He was justice of the peace for many years, president of the
library board, served on the Wis. Central Democratic Committee and was a member
of the county board.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the
Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at Owen, with the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh of the
Congregational Church officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery near the
Black River. Graveside military services were conducted by the American Legion.
