Pischer, Harold A.
(23 March 1894 - 3 April 1967)
Funeral services were held Saturday
afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Harold A. Pischer, 73, of
Neillsville, who died April 3, in the Veterans Hospital at Wood. The Rev. Norman
W. Lindloff of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville officiated.
Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Pischer was born
March 23, 1894, in the Town of Grant, son of the late Henry and Emelia
(Lautenbach) Pischer. He attended school in Clark County and attended a
barbering school in Milwaukee. He operated a barber shop in Neillsville for many
years, retiring in 1945. He was a veteran of World War I, having entered the
armed forces June 27, 1918, receiving his discharge February 5, 1919. Mr.
Pischer was married October 1, 1922, to the former Emily Schmidt in Neillsville.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Mrs. Berle (Helen) Barkley of
Milwaukee and Marvin Pischer of Black River Falls. Other survivors are four
sisters, Mrs. Alma Hrabik of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Penwell of
Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. Francis (Hilda) Woodward of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ed (Edna)
Larson of Western Springs, Ill; and three brothers, Reuben of Portland, Ore.,
Alvin of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dan of Sarasota, Fla.; and by two grandchildren.
Military rites at the graveside were conducted by the Wisconsin National
Guard Company and the American Legion. Pallbearers were: Harry Roehrborn, John
Swenson, Henry Naedler, Jess W. Scott, Paul Bartell and John R. Bergemann.
Miss Beverly Schoenherr sang, “What a Friend we have in Jesus,” accompanied
by Victor Lehmann.
