Syth, Colleen (Marriage -
8 April 1967)
Miss Colleen Syth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth of
rural Greenwood, and Richard Adler of Greenwood, son of Mrs. Roman Adler and the
late Mr. Adler of Marshfield exchanged wedding vows in a double ring ceremony
performed by the Rev. Aloysius Baumann at noon Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Greenwood. The altar was graced with baskets of white gladioli and
white daisy chrysanthemums.
Mr. Syth presented his daughter in marriage.
The bride wore a floor-length linen like Saki, fashioned with an A-line skirt.
The fitted bodice was enhanced with an empire waistline. The boat-bottom
neckline was buttoned in the back with tiny self-covered buttons. Further
gracing the bodice were three quarter length sleeves. Wide Venetian lace circled
the edge of the sleeves and edge of the chapel train. Her bouffant veil of
imported silk illusion was attached to a headpiece of silk organza rosettes tied
in a cluster with a bow. She carried a bouquet of eucharis lilies and ivy.
Miss Luanne Syth of Burbank, Cal., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Kathleen Herr of Greenwood and Barbara Adler of Marshfield. The attendants were
seen in floor-length dresses of yellow Saki, draped with silk organza. Their
sheath skirts were topped with fitted bodices that featured crescent waistlines
outlined by fabric daisies. The backs of their dresses were styled with a
detachable Watteau train. Each wore a tiara of leaf petals made of nylon net.
Floral sprigs scattered through nose veils. They carried baskets of daisy
chrysanthemums.
Norman Adler of Marshfield was bestman. Groomsmen were
Dennis Syth of Greenwood and Glenn Adler of Marshfield. Ushers were Brian
Schmidt of West Allis and Tom Adler of Madison.
The bride, a Greenwood
High School graduate, attended the Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire. She
presently is employed in a Marshfield hospital. The groom, a graduate of
Columbus Highs School in Marshfield, has employment with the Clark Electric
Cooperative in Greenwood.
