Pieper, Alma #2 (9 MAY 1917)
Willie Breseman, only son
of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Breseman of the town of Lynn, and Miss Alma Pieper the
oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Pieper of the town of Loyal, were united in
the holy bonds of matrimony at the Loyal German Lutheran Church at two o’clock
Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 1917. Rev. Kemena, the pastor, officiated. The bride
was charmingly gowned in a dress of white satin with trimmings of lace, ribbon
and rhinestones. The beauty of the costume was further enhanced by a bridal
wreath and veil, as well as by her bouquet of bridal roses. Her sister Miss
Lorna acted as her maid and she too appeared in beautiful white. Their close
friend Mr. Nathan Desslock acted as best man. Miss Clara Kehrberg played the
wedding march, as well as the prelude to the ceremony.
Mr. Alfred Anding,
Miss Gertrude Lindow, Mr. Reinhold Piper, Miss Elsie Rohloff, Mr. Arthur
Lautenbach and Miss Nellie Dorst, acting as attendants, completed the bridal
party. The church was well filled by relatives and friends who came to witness
the ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony at the church, the
bridal party entered waiting automobiles and was first driven to Horn’s Studio
where the usual bridal picture was taken. Then followed a reception and wedding
dinner at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Pieper. Her the
Loyal band serenaded the happy pair and the wedding festivities lasted until
early Thursday morning. The groom holds a good position as cheesemaker at the
Woodside Creamery and it is there at Riplinger the happy pair will begin
housekeeping after their return from a wedding trip and visit at Marshfield,
Granton, Eau Claire and Altoona next week.
Among the out of town guests
were Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Breseman, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Schlinsog, Mr. and Mrs. David
Garbush and daughter Clara, Oscar Breseman, Miss Lydia Schier, Mrs. Julius
Lautenbach, Edward and Arthur Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lindow, Abbie,
Gertrude and Raymond Lindow, Alfred Anding, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Meisner, all of
