Shopko (Donation to
NHS - 11 July 2012)
The Shopko Foundation will present Neillsville High
School with a $2,500 check at the Shopko Hometown store’s grand opening Aug. 9,
2012. According to Tara Powers, spokesperson for Shopko, the foundation is
presenting a donation to schools in every market a Shopko Hometown store is
opening.
According to School Administrator John Gaier, the school
district usually uses donations to purchase supplies for students such as pens,
pencils, and notebooks. However, Gaier noted the school could use the Shopko
donation to purchase new technology.
"We’ll look at our supplies list and
see what would be appropriate to use that money for,” he said. “We may be
looking to use money like that to purchase another computer or two."
Gaier noted the computers would be made available to students and teachers in
the classroom.
Regardless of how the money will be used, Gaier said the
school is grateful for the donation.
"We are very appreciative," he said.
