Merrillan (20 April 1967)
Laura Neumann of Madison spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus
Neumann.
Weekend guests at the Dorothy Stolp home were Mr. and Mrs. Roger
Stolp of Genoa City and Mrs. Gloria Gatzke of Milwaukee. Mrs. Gatzke will remain
for a longer visit.
Mrs. Harry Demaski and Linda drove to Minneapolis
Saturday, where they were met by Harry, who had just returned from Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Knutson and Kent of Tomah were Sunday afternoon guests of
Mrs. Walter Nash.
Mrs. William Stanway of Ironton, Minn., is spending
several weeks with her sister, Mrs. Oscar Hagen.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hagen
and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hagen of Altoona were recent visitors at the Harley
Anderson and Nellie Hagen homes.
John Anger entered the Sacred Heart
Hospital in Eau Claire Sunday, where he will undergo extensive examination. Mrs.
Anger accompanied him and is visiting at the home of their son, Kenny, in Eau
Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Linder attended the funeral of Harry Iffland
of Humbird, which was held Saturday afternoon at the Jensen Funeral Home in
Hixton.
Weekend guests at the Mildred Olson home were her son, Rollie,
and his sons, Randy and Mr. and Mrs. Joey Olson, all of Chicago.
Elgie
Beede of Milwaukee spent the weekend in Merrillan visiting friends and
relatives.
Mrs. Robert Linder visited at the Art and Louis Olson home in
Garden Valley on Wednesday and assisted with their spring house cleaning.
The fourth quarterly conference of he Merrillan and Alma Center churches was
held April 12 in the Alma Center church. The Rev. Herbert Thompson of La Crosse
conducted the session.
Mmes. Gertrude Griffis, Ruth Gearing and Madeline
Persson have returned home from their winter vacations in the south. They all
enjoyed their trips but report they are happy to be home.
Mrs. Freda
McCorison spent Sunday in La Crosse visiting at the Harvey Rucker home.
