Biddle, Richard (22 AUG
1893 - 14 MAR 1962)
Richard Biddle, 68, of 1227 Geele Ave., Sheboygan,
died at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium Plymouth Hospital on March 14, 1962, following a
lengthy illness.
Mr. Biddle was born in the town of Reseburg, Clark Co.,
Wis. on Aug. 22, 1893, a son of the late Richard and Lillian Biddle.
He
went to Sheboygan in 1920 and has lived there since.
On Feb. 6, 1937 he
married the former Mrs. Megedina Stahl Kautzer. Her served in the armed forces
during World War I and was a member of VFW Memorial Post 9156.
He was
employed by the David Holler Plumbing Co. until his retirement in 1956.
Mr. Biddle was a member of the Holy Name Church and the parish Holy Name
Society.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at
the Holy Name Church, Sheboygan, following brief family rites at the Nickles
Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. The Rev. Anthony J. Knackert, pastor, was celebrant of
the requiem Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral
home after 3 p.m. Friday. Members of the Holy Name Society held a Vigil there at
7 p.m.
Survivors are his widow and four stepsons, Arthur Kautzer of
Glenbuelah, Alfred and Edwin of Sheboygan, and Harold Kautzer of Southgate,
Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ray (Ermelinde) Prahl of Sheboygan; and 14
step-grandchildren, and five brothers, William Biddle of Stanley, Wis., and
Dennis, John, Andrew and Frank Biddle, all of Thorp, Wis., and five sisters,
Mrs. William (Rose) DeWorth of Elmhurst, Ill., Mrs. Johanna Bowman of St. Paul,
Minn., Mrs. Florence Heiser and Miss Clara Biddle of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Harry
(Elise) Witt of Boyd, Wis.
Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156 VFW held Memorial
services at 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
