Persak, Stanley (24 SEP

Funeral services were held at St. Peter and Paul’s
Catholic Church at Gilman at ten o’clock Saturday morning, April 28, for Stanley
Persak, 68, a retired Gilman farmer who died suddenly at his home on Wednesday,
April 25, 1962. Father John Dzurko officiated at the solemn requiem mass.
Mr. Persak, who was born in Minneapolis on Sept. 24, 1893, came to Thorp
(Clark Co., Wis.) with his parents at the age of six months and was brought up
on a farm north of Thorp. At the age of 16 he went to Gilman and worked in the
Gilman sawmill until 1935, when he moved on a farm west of the village. He
retired from the farm in 1958 and moved back to Gilman to make his home.
He was united in marriage at Gilman on Oct. 24, 1916 to Anna Filipowicz. Besides
his wife, he is survived by one son, Raymond at home, two daughters, Agnes, Mrs.
F. Wetzel of Milwaukee and Margaret, Mrs. Stanley Harycki of Thorp; three
brothers, Leon Persak of West Allis, Wis., Thomas Persak of Orland Park, Ill.,
and Frank Persak of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Slupski of Thorp. Three
brothers, Charles, Walter and Tony preceded him in death.
Burial was made
in the Meadowbrook Cemetery at Gilman. Pallbearers were Leon Drangel, John
Kapay, John Herman, Joe Waligorski, John Stasczuk and Joe Wisniewski.
