The
continuous rain on Monday ended in a snow storm and was followed on Tuesday by a
cold wind. On Wednesday morning ice was plainly visible on the water. Good for
May 23rd.
Mrs. Annie O’Brien came home from the hospital at Marshfield
last Friday. Her husband went over and accompanied her home.
Emil Luebke
and family of Weston rapids spent Sunday with Mrs. Vet Pease.
E.g. Rowe
sold 20 acres of land to A.P. Fulwiler last Tuesday.
Ed Northup and
family took in the sights at Neillsville on Friday.
A representative of
the Illinois Oil Co. was canvassing through here last Friday.
Considerable planting was done in this vicinity the past week. Small grain is
coming up nicely, and the grass has gotten sufficient start so cattle can now
pick a living.
Schaefer Bros., who recently purchased the Richard Free
forty, are making arrangements to build a barn on it this summer.
We
forgot all about mentioning that Dave Seif has given his house a new roof. Dave
is a hustler and is keeping up with the times.
We haven’t time to count
all those who went to Neillsville last Tuesday with veal calves.
