Humbird (27 April 1967)
Word has been
received of a car accident which took the lives of the former Ida Stevens and
her husband, and the shock to their son who was with them. Miss Daisy Stevens
left immediately for Montana to be with her sister’s family.
Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Decorah have purchased a trailer home and are now living in Hixton.
Hi! Remember folks: Spring is just around the corner and on Saturday
night or 2 a.m. Sunday morning turn your clocks ahead, one hour.
Mr. and
Mrs. Archie Kirby took Mrs. Arnold Matti to Eau Claire last Thursday, where she
consulted an eye specialist.
Mrs. Willard Stanley entered Community
hospital in Black River Falls last Monday and is responding slowly to treatment.
She hopes to be home before too long.
Mrs. Joan Boettcher spent the
weekend in Minneapolis with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schrier.
Mrs.
Rudy Aeschbacher spent the weekend with her daughter, Mrs. Phil Carroll, at
Whitewater.
Mr. and Mrs. John Greub spent Sunday evening at the Ted
Polege home.
Friends here are sorry to hear that Albert Van Kirk, who is
in the Osseo Nursing home, is not very well.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Haralson of
Black River Falls spent Sunday afternoon at the Fred Barr home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Holub and two boys of Neillsville spent Sunday afternoon at the Levi
Fitzmaurice home.
Brenda Dignin of Chicago was here for the weekend and
attended the Alma Center Lincoln High School prom.
Mrs. Orrin Wold of
Disco spent Tuesday at the Henry Laffe home.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Englesby
and mother, Mrs. Effie Brownell, all of Eau Claire, visited Sunday at the Jake
Lightfoot home. In the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice joined the group.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence of Granton visited Sunday afternoon at the
Ellis Williams home.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McPherson of Lake Bluff, Ill.,
called Wednesday afternoon at the Henry Laffe home.
