Allbaugh, Mr. and Mrs. George (Golden - 28 March 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. George Allbaugh held open house at the Washburn Town hall Sunday afternoon in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Approximately 80 relatives and friends attended.

Ruth Carter, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Carter, and George Allbaugh, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Adam Allbaugh, were married March 28, 1917, at the home of her parents, which is now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allbaugh. The Rev. S. B. Pinney, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Neillsville performed the ceremony. Their attendants were Gladys Winters (now Mrs. Irving Stevens) and Hubert Carter, both of whom are living. However, Mr. Carter was unable to attend the open house.

They had no children, but raised her niece, Lucille Wilding, whose mother died when she was an infant.

The open house was postponed a couple of months because of the illness of Mr. Allbaugh.

Those from away in attendance were: Buford Spangler, Mrs. Lulu Allbaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Allbaugh of Richland Center; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Allbaugh of Yuba; Mrs. Lafe Drake of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bell, Janesville; Mrs. William I. Groves and Mrs. Ole Skretteberg of Viroqua; Vera Lincoln, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Schultz, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Clarence Rutherford, Black River Falls.

They were presented with gifts, money and cards.
