Gehrt, Willie H. (1 October 1893 - 26 May 1967)
Funeral services were
held Monday for Willie H. Gehrt, 73, of Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died Friday at
the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marden. The Rev.
W. C. Koehler of the United Church officiated at services held from the Georgas
Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr.
Gehrt was born October 1, 1893, in Clark County. His parents were the late
Herman and Emelia (Krueger) Gehrt. He attended Silver Crest School and in later
years engaged in farming in the town of Pine Valley on the parental farm. For
the last six years he had made his home with his sister. Mr. Gehrt never
married.
He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Mary Mohr, Mrs. Arthur
(Elsie) Berger and Mrs. Charles (Emma) Marden, all of the Neillsville area. He
was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Otto and a sister, Martha.
Pallbearers were: Earl Marden, Byno Lloyd, Tom Yndogliato, Clifford Winter,
Wilson Bohnhoff and Fred Mohr.
Mrs. W. C. Koehler sang, “Precious Lord
Take My Hand” and “Have Thine Own Way Lord.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Jess W.
Scott.
People from away here for the funeral were: Gordon Gehrt of Rib
Lake, Mrs. Rudolph Novak and family of Merrillan, Mrs. Elizabeth Gossmann of
Milwaukee, and Mrs. Leon Hermeling of Wood River, Ill.
