Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, 1962 at St. Mary’s
Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin for Mr. Stanley Szemraj, 86, who died
Wednesday morning, May 16, 1962 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls. He
had been suffering of a heart ailment the last few months.
The Rev. A.
Matla officiated at the 10:30 a.m. funeral services and interment was made in
St. Mary’s Church Cemetery at Lublin. The Thorp Funeral Home was in charge.
Pallbearers were Stanley Kaszubowski, Gus Kozmierski, Edward Stroinski, Walter
Ruda, Steve Schewczyk and Mayland Ogurek.
Mr. Stanley Szemraj was born in
Poland Dec. 16, 1875. He came to America in 1906 and resided in Chicago, Ill.,
residing there until coming to Lublin with his family in 1916, and settled on a
farm in the Town of Roosevelt, until 1960 when he retired in the Village of
Lublin.
He was united in marriage to Mary Wyzykowski in Chicago on Oct.
6, 1909 and was a father of 8 children.
He is survived by his wife and
eight children (Frances) Mrs. Stanley Lewan, (Bernice) Mrs. Vance Bandach,
Chicago, (Victoria) Mrs. Donald Syrzyczuk, Joseph and Peter, Edward, Wis., John,
Walter and Stanley, and a brother Walter Szemraj and wife of Downers Grove, Ill,
sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Out of town folks
attending the funeral were Mrs. Walter Szemraj, Downers Grove, Ill., Mrs. Vance
Bandach, Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Szemraj and daughters of Edgar, Wis.
Also friends of Owen, Thorp, Stanley and Gilman attended.
